Police Arrest Serial Robbery Suspect
April 13, 2005 -- Houston police
robbery investigators have arrested a suspect wanted for a series
of robberies in the Rice Village area.
The suspect, Dwayne Breant Ford (b/m DOB: 6-30-79),
has been arrested and charged with robbery in the 248th State
District Court. Ford was taken into custody by HPD SWAT officers
at a residence, 4422 Weaver, about 7 a.m. today (April 13, 2005).
HPD Robbery Division Officer J. Tapia reported:
This robbery investigation consists of five different
cases in which Ford is involved. Ford generally targeted female
victims as they walked or were exiting their vehicles near Rice
Village businesses. He approached the victims and stole their
purses and bags from their hands.
The locations where the incidents occurred are
as follows:
2000 McClendon - 8 a.m. on Sunday, March 13,
2005
2501 Rice Blvd. - 1:10 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2005
2200 Holcombe - 11:20 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2005
2336 Bolsover - 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2005
8111 Kirby Dr. - 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2005
