City and Family to Remember Late Boxer and Businessman George Foreman
April 11, 2025 -- The family of George Foreman, in partnership with City of Houston Mayor John Whitmire, is hosting a memorial service honoring the life and legacy of George Edward Foreman, two'-time Heavyweight Champion of the World, who died last month at 76.
Due to limited space, members of the public must have a ticket to attend the service, and all tickets have been distributed.
MEDIA INFORMATION
- The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 14, at the Wortham Theater Center, 501 Texas Ave.
- Houston Municipal Television (HTV) will provide pool coverage.
- Media seating is limited and tickets will be distributed to media representatives on Monday morning beginning at 8 a.m.
- Parking will be provided along Texas Ave. in front of the Wortham. Please contact the Mayor's Office of Communications for a parking pass—only one per media outlet.
- One pool television and one print photographer will be allowed limited access to capture images and video of the memorial service inside the Wortham.
HOW TO WATCH
Houston Municipal Television (HTV) will provide a pool feed for media, and the public can also watch the memorial service live on htvhouston.net, Facebook, and the HTV Houston mobile app.
